I recently installed an e-sim and while it appears to have installed successfully, downloaded itself from O2 etc, there's an exclamation mark on its icon in the status bar and a message to say 'no service' and 'selected network (O2-UK unavailable'. I can't see why since the service availability in our area is good according to the online 'check up'.
So what's up?
