I recently came to O2 from Virgin media and have had a pretty bad experience trying to do so.

My old number was supposed to be transferred on the 13th but after almost daily call to O2 it seems it has finally happened today. BUT

On the phone (Iphone13) under settings - phone - it still shows the O2 temp phone number I was given whilst I waited for the port to occur. If I ring MY number it rings my phone just fine but I cannot change this number. If I try to manually change it and save it, it immediately reverts back to the O2 temp number.

Is this just a waiting game or do I need more help from the wonderful 202 help desk and another endless wait in a holding pattern?

SO far this has not been a very good service at all for me as a new customer.

You need to get a blank sim from a O2 store and do a sim swap

Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

The store will do it for you

Don't order one from O2 online or over the phone as your present sim will be disconnected as soon as the new one has been ordered and you will be without a phone until the new sim arrives
