You don't say what type of phone you have, but here are some tips for Apple iPhone:
Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204023
Come back if it's a different phone - it's usually easy enough on Android, if the phone is working as it hould.
Keep an eye on your data usage in your MyO2 if you use tethering/mobile hotspot frequently.

Also check the network connection on your laptop is not set to metered.
