Will my 2G only phone still work for it's texts and calls, after the 3G switch off?

This is all I require of my phone. I only access the internet on my computer.

Yes calls and text will work as before. 2G is not being shut down just yet.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Yes it will still work for what you need

Be aware though that 2G will also eventually be switched off possibly 2026/7

Will 2G be switched off as well?


No – we aren't switching off our 2G network. But we’ll be moving you away from our older 3G network to provide you with a better mobile experience. At the same time, we’ll be expanding our 4G and 5G coverage across the UK.

 

In the future, you'll need to make sure that you have a WiFi and 4G Calling compatible device to continue making calls, sending messages and using data.
