Wife's handset has been blacklisted by O2 (although she's not an O2 customer)

Hi I wonder if anyone can help, or link me up to an O2 support team member who can help, as the standard help would be assumed to be for me and my phone.

My wife has had her phone for nearly two years (bought as an unwanted upgrade). She has used it on EE and 3 in this time with no issue. However, her phone was blacklisted and blocked a couple of weeks ago by O2, and it seems that only O2 can unblock her IMEI number. The phone has never been used on O2, so it can be demonstrated that hers is not the phone that O2 should have blocked.

Are any O2 help staff able to help?

There are no O2 staff here as we are all customers in the community.

I suspect one of two things has happened.

Either the person it was bought off has reported it lost or stolen  or it has been blacklisted by mistake.

You can do a free check

It may give a reason.

Not being an O2 customer makes life difficult

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Aly08

This is a customer to customer forum so you need to speak to O2.

If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help. Or call them on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (contract)

4445 or 0344 809 0222 (PAYG)

Thanks both. Will give O2 a ring. Was just conscious that they may think it's about my handset and wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and had a specific contact.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply and help.
