Wi-Fi Calling 2024

Why in 2024 is it not possible for O2 Wi-Fi calling to be available on all devices using an O2 Sim?

I have Wi-Fi calling enabled on my account. My phone (Poco X3 NFC) supports Wi-Fi calling. Yet when I have Wi-Fi calling turned on I still have no success using my phone for calls or texts.

Does anyone know if O2 will support all devices that have Wi-Fi calling support?

O2 support all the devices they sell.

Others may work but there is no guarantees or support available.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

It is also worth bearing in mind that WiFi Calling is not available at all on PAYG. 👍

a 5 second search on Reddit would have given you a code to enter into the dialler on the POCO,

*#*#869434#*#*

As this has been known to work,  but at the end of the day a phone that is now 4 versions of Android out, probably doesnt support the wifi calling GSM standards...

Also you could ask Xiaomi Support on if they support it on o2...

@MI5 Does the statement 'O2 support all the devices they sell' mean that I have to actually purchase it from O2 or can I purchase the same phone from a neutral seller and have it support wi-fi calling when I put my O2 sim in?

You can use any seller. O2 don't use special firmware any longer.

My phone was bought direct from the manufacturer

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

What did Poco aka Xiaomi say when you asked them??

WiFi Calling is a GSM Standard, so it could be they dont support the GSM Standards... best place to ask is on Reddit to see if anyone else with the Poco Phone has had issues with WiFi Calling.. if Poco support dont know??

As long as it is also available from O2 you can buy it anywhere and it will be guaranteed to work.
