In the past few days I have closed one contract to take out another better deal (still with o2). At the time of checkout I didn't see an option to just upgrade so I had to move my number over to a pay as you go (vodafone) sim I had spare while I cancelled the old one.

Now when I try to move the number back to o2, either by the app or by the website, it doesn't let me add any info and instead I get the following error message:

There was a problem making that change

Your PAC has expired. If you want your number to be transferred ask your old network for a new PAC.

I have a new PAC...

It's because you can only make one change per month @thecableguy

Always been the same with O2.

Once the 30 days are up, get a new PAC from Voda and it should go through OK.

But then you'll get one of the other issues that O2 have currently with porting in numbers.

@thecableguy

Wait 30 days until your PAC really does expire, then get a new one.

Doing it sooner confuses the system.

Well great, the guide I read about doing this mentioned no such limitation in 'the system'

So wait for which PAC to expire? the one used to move it from o2 to vodafone or the new one vodafone has issued?

Thanks, but that seems odd. How does o2 have foreknowledge of which number I want to transfer and if I have requested a PAC from vodafone or not? I mean I could want to transfer a totally different number to this new contract, right?

lol. it would make more sense if it's the PAC request from o2 that it is seeing as expired, because it was 'used' moving over to vodafone, but then it should let me proceed because as I said I could want to add any number to this new contract...

It's like when it loads the page it already has that old PAC added, despite me not even seeing the options to add anything. Odd indeed.
