Hi, my Motorola is acting up and I need to buy a new phone. I have decided on the Motorola Edge 30 Neo but O2 don't sell that model.
As a long time O2 user, I asked one O2 shop if I bought a new phone would they transfer the contents of the old phone to the new one for me. They said as I hadn't bought the phone there they could not do that. They also mentioned Data Protection stopped them.
Puzzled I rang another O2 shop and the chap said, no problem, bring it in. The O2 gurus have done this for me twice in the past so what is the problem now? I know they no longer have gurus which is a shame.
Anyone know who is correct?

Thanks for this. My phone is Motorola and the new one would also be Motorola. Is there a Smartswitch for these phones?
BTW, I have not seen an option to be notified of replies to my query. Have I missed it?
Thanks again,

Neither are correct or incorrect
It is completely down to the goodwill of store staff and whether they are too busy (eg Saturdays)
You can do it easily enough yourself though
Just download Smart Switch from the Play store on each phone and follow the easy steps to transfer everything over
Samsung Smart Switch Mobile – Apps on Google Play
Works with any Android phone such as the Motorola
