I had my phone stolen on Friday. Barred the number to get it blocked. Purchased a new phone and contacted o2 to get the number unbarred. They said it would take 24 hrs. It's not three days and I have no calls or data (and as it is a Google phone I cannot download apps to the two step authentication requiring the phone number to verify). o2 have said this is due to a fault their end.
Anyone got any advice or tips. I am literally losing business as a result and o2 just keep telling me to wait.

Have you tried contacting o2 via social media to see if they can sort it for you @Neil14 ?
