Message on screen keeps appearing to say no sim inserted and advising I cannot make or receive calls. After Message sometimes disconnected my call.

It could be a faulty phone, you are best reaching out to the manufacturer of the phone, and asking them to replace it.
You can also try taking the sim out of your phone and giving it a wipe just incase there is some dust on the sim card.

You can call into any O2 store for a free sim swap to see if it helps.
