Samsung Watch 4

I've ordered the new Samsung watch 4 and been sent a confirmation email which details a new phone number.  I'm concerned this will change my handset phone number too (so they can work together?) but I want to retain my old phone number which I've had for over a decade.  Don't want to go through the faff of having a new phone number for my handset.

Can anyone advise?

All smartwatches use embedded eSIm which has to have a different number.

When correctly setup, the watch will replicate calls and texts from your phone number.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
