Hi

My first question on the board. Good to find this particularly given the current situation

In January I changed my tariff to increased data with 5G to take advantage of my new Samsung S10 5G phone. I was also given a new SIM. I live in Tynemouth which, according to the O2 coverage page on the website, has 5G enabled.

Yet I've never seen anything on my phone to indicate I've connected to 5G?

Would one normally see a 5G symbol in place of the usual 4G on the handset ?

How can I check all my settings, tariff, SIM etc are correct for 5G ?

Kindest Regards

@PhilR

If you have a 5G phone, 5G sim and are in a 5G area, then  your phone will display the 5G icon.

If yours isn't, you may have the wrong sim, or not be in a 5G area.

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/network-coverage-and-international/5G-setup

Check your network settings to ensure 5g is enabled.

If you are near an O2 shop you could pop in and get them to check it out for you
