I’ve not used my Samsung Galaxy S20+ in a long time due to it being damaged due to me dropping it and completely killing the screen. I just put it away in a drawer because I couldn’t wipe my data off the phone and didn’t feel comfortable recycling it in case it ended up in the hands of some scammer that could hack into my accounts but I’ve just noticed tonight that the battery on the phone has started to swell and the back of the phone has raised. I’m worried now as I don’t really want to keep it in the house anymore in case it explodes or something. I need to some help to find the safest possible way for me to dispose of this phone. The battery is obviously a hazard now and I’m still worried about the fact that the phone isn’t wiped of my data. Should I be worried about this? I’ve removed the phone from the drawer and I’ve put it in an empty cupboard for now whilst I figure out where to get rid of this thing. Thanks in advance for any advice! 🙂

Current devices: Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple iPad Pro 11” and Apple Watch Series 9 (all with O2)

You should be able to remotely wipe it in your Samsung account

Once you have erased the data you can safely recycle it (or even bury it in your garden?)
