SMS messages to my O2 number are not being received until I log on to O2 with one-time confirmation code. This is causing problems with online purchases. Can you help?

Check if you have WiFi calling enabled on your handset, it can interfere with SMS receipt - try disabling it briefly so your handset is forced to use the O2 cellular signal instead of your (possibly much stronger) WiFi signal at home, @TEH
If that is the issue, adjust your handset to prefer the cellular signal:
