Porting number problem

Hi, I transferred my SIM contract from Virgin to O2. I provided the PAC and the number ported

on Tuesday. I’m fine making and receiving calls but I’m not receiving texts. I phoned O2 and did everything they suggested: update number, turn phone off and on, reset network. Nothing worked. I went to a O2 shop and they change the SIM card. Again, can’t receive texts at all which is very annoying since I need the texts and security codes for work. Today I was told it was a problem with the number porting from Virgin to O2 - the number wasn’t completely ported. Could you please help? Otherwise I will need to cancel this contract while I’m in the cooling off period. As I said, I really need the texts for work. Thanks
