I joined O2 a few months ago and I regularly get really bad signal. Seems odd to me to still be seeing 3G in 2024. Even when I see 4G the data speeds become very slow...
any tips anyone?

London is quite bad in places as O2 has more subscribers than the network can cope with

This app is mentioned @Iyke in the guidance that has been provided to you ; it is a really good tool and I would suggest that you take a look at it :-
My Network App - Find Out More About Your Network Coverage | Apps | O2
https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network
Understand your network coverage
With the My Network app you can keep an eye on your coverage, wherever you are. Download the app and you’ll be able to:
- check the status of our network in your area – you don’t even need to enter your postcode

It’s simple to use and means that you can check the network without having to visit the main site or even enter a postcode.

Poor data speeds are caused by there being insufficient spectrum/capacity deployed, for the amount of users. O2 are the last network to still have a 3G service live.
Although London is a large city to comment on, O2 are consistently rated in the bottom 2 networks for data performance in national performance tests.
Having said this, there are pockets of the city where O2 have a strong small cell deployment.
