I am currently in the USA on business and my phone isnt connecting to a network, i only have SOS showing as available.

I desperately need my phone to operate, can someone sort as a matter of urgency please?

I cant receive call or texts so pointless sending me a text to confirm my identity.

Some things to try:

Check data roaming is on in phone settings.

Manually search for another network even forbidden ones.

Turn off 5g

Change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

Check with O2 whether you have a roaming bar on your account. Do this via social media

If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (X)( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help.

Data roaming just means using mobile data whilst already roaming. The OP mentioned "my phone isn't connecting to a network" and thus unable to roam.

That's either a local network issue or an account/SIM one. Manually cycling through all available local networks is definitely wise and should form part of troubleshooting.

It would also help to know whether this SIM has been used outside the UK previously, and thus roaming enabled.

Hence the suggestion to manually search for other networks.

Experience tells us that alternating between T Mobile and AT&T yields favourable results.

Having checked that data roaming is on, answers any subsequent questions regarding data use, once a network connection is established.
