PUK code

Hi - my son has managed to lock my SIM. I've tried logging into the app from another device but its sending a code to my phone which I can't access. I've tried the unblock link (https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-and-devices/sims-and-numbers/unblock-your-phone) and it just says "Oops, something went wrong. Try again later." I've seen the instructions about the automated line but the menu sequence doesn't seem to be the same so I can't figure out how to navigate through to this option:

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 3 Your PUK will be read to you, so have a pen and paper handy.

I've tried various routes through the automated line (saying PIN unlock, trying different keypad menu options) but just keep ending up with them sending me a code which obviously I can't access. It then gives me the option to use my security code, but once I've navigated that, it just transfers me to an operator and obviously the lines are closed. Any other options or do I have to wait until the morning?

Thanks!

You'll only know once you enter the right code.

If it is permanently locked, you;ll need to go in store with photo ID for a replacement replica sim.

It would appear that calling O2 at 8.00am is your best option.

Guide: How to find help & contact O2

Thanks for the reply! Do you happen to know whether it would display something different if it was permanently blocked? I don't know how many times my son entered the wrong numbers so trying to figure out if that is the issue. It currently says: "SIM card locked. Enter PUK. Contact your service provider for details." I was hoping that's a good sign but slowly losing faith.
