Not receiving text from ROI

For the past few weeks I've not been receiving any text from family in ROI which they have sent.  I have had a new sim since migrating from Virgin recently. Has anyone any ideas as I really don't understand what's going on?

Sometimes the sender has mis-specified a number in an address book, get them to delete it on their phone and start their SMS afresh by keying in your number with +44 in front of it.
