Why should I even be paying my phone bill when I can't use any services that I'm meant to have with my contract yet I can't use any of them! Not happy one bit!

No networks guarantees a 100% service uptime, and faults do occur.
Have you checked https://status.o2.co.uk for any service outages in your area.
Have you tried you sim card in a different phone to rule out the sim card failing... I would also request a replacement sim card by contacting o2.
You have 2 options to get a new simcard either by popping into an o2 store with photo ID, or If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this
