I have taken my new iPhone out for the first time and I had no signal whatsoever. I couldn’t connect to the internet, I couldn’t receive or make phone calls or texts.

hi everyone.

thanks for your advice. I managed to contact O2 by phone and strangely enough all I had to do was turn my phone off and back on.  Boy I felt a total idiot but she did ask if my phone is constantly connected to my home Wi-Fi to which I said yes. It seemed to me that that could cause the problem when using my phone outdoors. So basically I’m hoping it’s not going to have to do the on, off thing every time I leave the house. Oh well, just have to wait and see.  Thanks again.

Have you checked the sim card is the correct way up @Pandamomma ?

Did you upgrade or is this a new connection with o2?

If upgrade, you need to use your old sim.

If a new connection then you might need to contact o2 to confirm you have the phone/sim and they can unblock it (it's blocked during shipping for security reasons).
