It’s a pretty common problem for me that wherever I am with only 3G signal, mobile data is non-existent. It’s possible to receive calls, but simple things such as connecting to WhatsApp are impossible. Has O2 decided not to provide mobile data through their 3G network anymore, or do they not check that their masts/the masts of their providers actually provide mobile data coverage? I’m based in North West England, is this the same elsewhere?

Just thought I would try data on 3G at home. Must admit it was pretty dire.
Doubt if much effort will be put in with 3Gs demise next year

Most unlikely. We also know they are turning off 3g in some areas on a test basis already.
