Hoping to have better luck here then with the support of O2 on the phone a while back.
Internet abroad doesn’t work on my phone although Roaming is set to be allowed, automatic network selection is on, in my contract I have unlimited data even abroad, I do have 4 solid bars of signal strength and 3g or 4g is available (my work phone is fine!) This has been persistent in 3 different countries now (Germany, Spain, Italy), only in the Netherlands was this working so far. With my previous network provider on the same phone it was working absolutely fine (iPhone 7, currently on iOS 15.7)

what can be done to solve this please?

Here are a few things to try/check @TessMountain

Borrowed from another community member (thanks @MI5 !)

          *  Make sure data roaming and mobile data is turned on in your phone's settings.

          * Manually search for another network

          * If you have an iPhone change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

           * Try toggling Airplane mode on/off (it often helps kickstart things)

           * Drop down to 3G and see if that helps.

           * Contact O2 to see if there are any roaming bars on the account

If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this

You need the idata bolt on adding to your account then @TessMountain

Contact o2 customer services when you get back in the UK.

In the meantime, have a lovely holiday!
