No Signal Isle of Gigha and Kintyre

Hi, I am an elected Councillor representing Kintyre and the Islands, Argyll and Bute Council. For several weeks there has been no signal on the Isle of Gigha and part of the Kintyre Peninsula, post code area includes PA29 6XW. Constituents are very angry at this situation and they heavily rely on their mobile devices to operate safely and run businesses etc. The mast failure is a known by O2, but remains broken. I would ask that the mast is repaired as a matter of urgency and also ask what the specific issue is with the mast.

A constituent has also been informed that the nearest mast has been re-directed to cover the village of Tarbert after a lightning strike. Can this be confirmed or otherwise. Your customers live in very rural and vulnerable communities and rely on a dependable mobile signal.

As for repairs, o2 do not offer a repair timescale due to issues outside of their control, including but not limited to access to the mast and parts availability.

The best bet is to contact o2 directly, either by calling them or messaging on social media (links below).

Call 202 from an o2 pay monthly phone, or 0344 809 0202

You need to contact O2.

Give O2 a call on 202  or 0344 809 0202.

Or you can message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), hopefully they should be able to help.

A lot of people in the area will have phones capable of Wifi calling. This will help some people.

This is what O2 put out on their status page.

Until they get to the mast and assess the situation they may not know what is wrong. Although it doesn't look like a quick fix.
