New 5g phone

hi I have just bought a new mobile & it's 5g but I don't think my area has 5g can I change to a 4g similar instead or is it the phone that is 5g. Thanks

Your phone needs to be 5G-capable and your tariff needs to be 5G (from O2).

If you have both a 5G handset and a 5G tariff, in a 5G area your calls will use 5G - if no 5G in your area, your phone will use 4G. 

If 5G is available in your area from O2, and either your handset or tariff are 4G, then 4G is all you will get
