Moving abroad

I'm about to move abroad. My time will be split with the other country (covered within my plan for international roaming) and the UK, but with the majority being abroad.

I anticipate I will be getting a local SIM card with data, but want to keep my UK phone number, and ideally, my UK contract.  I am happy to have it set so I only get incoming calls on my UK number, and all outgoing calls are via my local phone number.

My phone has one physical slot, two eSIM slots, and is fully unlocked from O2, so technically there should be no issue with me having multiple SIMS and contracts.

The problem is, I expect to be breaching the fair usage terms for how long I will be outside the country.

The simple answer is for me to switch the SIMs in and out as I move borders, however, I'm unaware of how apps such as Whatsapp will work, which I believe is linked to my phone number, not the SIM. However, this will stop me receiving calls on my UK  number whilst out of the country.

Is there any way to keep both numbers working, without breaching the terms of use, and allowing incoming calls to each number on each SIM, when split between the two countries?

Short answer is no.

You need to come back to the UK to reset your abroad timer.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
