Is someone else using my number

People are calling / texting me saying that they have a missed call from me. I have not called them and there is no record in my call log. These are just normal people apparently returning calls made to them from my number. What is going on? How do I ensure I have not been charged for calls I have not made?

This is a known scam that has been happening recently. You are potentially being charged for answering the call or calling them back. Please don't answer the calls and block them.

And to reassure you, your number is not being used by anyone else. If you're concerned about charges, please call us on 202 free from your phone and we will check your recent charges.

@ELC Your number has been spoofed. The spoofers normally change numbers frequently, so it doesn't last long. Take a look at this: Ofcom Spoofing Warning - O2 Community
