Hi,

I have arrived in Australia. I have the proper Bolt ons.

My phone has automatically connected to YES OPTUS but I cannot call or text Aussie numbers.

Internet data is fine.

I have switched off and switched on. Taken out sim and put it back in.

Tries 02 app support but its useless, 202 number not available until tomorrow.

Any ideas ?

One possibility is you are in an area with no 3G: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Tech-Support/Roaming-Data-works-but-no-calls/m-p/1559340/highlight/tru...

Are you PAYG or on a Contract with O2, @KiamaBlowhole?

Ways to contact O2 via Internet are either Social Media or use Skype Guide: A Guide to Skype   to call the +44-0800 number inGuide: How to find help & contact O2 - time difference may make that awkward, I appreciate. Good luck!

@KiamaBlowhole

Try manually searching for a different network and try any that show up, even if they say forbidden.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

You don't need the http:/ in your apn @KiamaBlowhole

Just mobile.o2.co.uk

I (and my wife) have exactly the same problem as Kiamablowhole above. The Apple Genius team said my phone is correctly setup. I have been in communication with O2 for 10 days now (via Twitter DM) and still no solution. This is clearly not an isolated problem.

Australian telcos have been ruthless in their approach to 3G removal, @Yellowboy - you may get lucky if you manually search for Vodafone there, use any speed offering - also a network that shows as "Forbidden" is fair game to roam onto.

Keep on at O2 via X DMs is all that you can do - good luck!
