@JB17

How long is "not long"?

What does it say in the battery health settings?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Your best bet is to contact Google Pixel Support https://support.google.com/pixelphone/?hl=en-GB#topic=7078250

And bear in mind the 7a is now 3 generations old compared to the 9a

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

Phone batteries are considered a service item and depending on how they are used and charged will last 2 to 3 years from new.

Check if the battery is swollen or gets hot as you might be eligible for this

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@JB17  check out Google's battery programme https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/16043453?hl=en

Some pixels have a known battery issue, my wife also had the 7a. We went through the google programme and she was offered a replacement battery installation free if charge or a cash payment (whilst still keeping the phone).

She went for the cash payment (about £200 if I remember rightly, she had to sign up to some third party payment service recommended by Google support but it did pay out into her bank account after a number of weeks.
