I'm out of contact now and want to port my number to a new network. Will this automatically cancel my contract when it ports over? I'll be cancelling my direct debit as well.

Moving your number does cancel your contract @Marty303 

Don't cancel the DD yet - wait until you get a final bill with either a balance to pay or refund to come back though.

@Marty303 Your contract will be cancelled when you port your number, but do not cancel your Direct Debit until you receive a zero bill from O2. Sometimes there are small amounts left over, and people have been caught out for not getting them settled. It can cause credit problems down the road. See the guide below:
