Fallen for scam

Hi,

I think I have fallen for a scam, someone phoned me about half an hour ago saying they were from O2, they confirmed my email address and told me they would send me a text with a security code, which I read back to him. I know it was a really stupid thing to do, I knew it even as I was telling him the code. He then asked for the answer to my security question, which I didn't tell him, and I hung up. Will he have access to my account or would he need that security question? I have changed my password, but I can't think what else to do to make it more secure, particularly because I don't know what the security code would be used for. Any advice would be appreciated.

@ER4 You need to speak to customer service asap.
Call 202 from your mobile or 0800 032 1402 from any phone or numbers here: Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.

Very useful advice, I spoke to them and they were able to help. Very helpful that you put the numbers to press in your answer too.
