Hi I am looking to buy a dongle type thing that can supply a 4G network to a house that currently does not get any signal or wifi connection at all... Do these dongles need to connect to something first in order to give out the connection or are there types that can supply their own network? Any advice recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

A dongle needs to connect to a network so if there is no mobile coverage then a dongle won't work
Find out if any network has coverage and get a dongle from that network

Do you have coverage by a window or anything?
You could look at a MiFi which is a portable dongle as such that connects to the network and sends out a WiFi signal so you can use many devices at the same time,
These can be plugged into the mains and moved around so if you get some signal by a window which is normally the best place this may work for you.
You could always get one and try and if not return within 14 days?
