Hi

i have just ported to o2 on a 5g Sim Only deal on an IPhone 13 bought without a contract.

All is good on Wi-Fi - however, when I am out and about I am struggling to get any usage - messages, emails, safari and Apps.

Are there any obvious issues or changes to settings I need to make

thank you

john

5g coverage is still quite limited in most areas.

You can check here O2 Service Status

Try using a different network mode to see if there's any difference.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

I assumed when there was no 5g it would automatically operate on 4g

Yes in theory but it depends on the network settings on your phone and the actual signal strength being received.

Yes, that's what I meant by using a different network mode.

Settings >Network or Sim Settings depending on phone version.
