Connection to O2 network

sorry if this is a bit long winded,

My wifes S7 edge started to loose power at an alarming rate, (6 hours) till recharge needed, it was only showing low strength H signal, we can see the mast less than 1/2 mile away.

 

So I bit the bullet and bought her a replacement S9+, when we transfered the sim etc.

No change, the phone still not showing any better Network connection option than LTE/3G/2G, with a very poor signal strength.

 

Tried O2 for a new SIM, gave it more than 24 hours after the swap, no improvement.

 

Just to say if we put my sim in we instantly display 4g strong signal.

Does this perhaps confirm that we have an account provision fault on my wifes SIM's

It would point to her account being the issue

Give them a call to check that 4G is enabled on her account

@jonsie is most probably correct @DavyYoung, but have you also checked to see if there are any mast issues in your area?

OK just a little follow,up,

 

made another call to O2 and the very helpful assistant listened to our issue and then enabled 4g calling and bingo we are now happy and connected again.
