Can’t send sms on iphone

Tried the guide posted often, tried forcing a network refresh, tried off and on again. Still can’t send sms messages since a couple of months ago. Used to work fine. Can’t find any sms related settings on iPhone other than enable or disable. 

any help much appreciated

Have you tried a reset of the network settings?

Is this just to one contact or all contacts?

Are you able to send a text to yourself?

Model of iphone may help

Thanks. It’s to any contact or number. It’s an iPhone 14 on iOS 17.6

ivw tried forcing a Network refresh by turning off automatic, choosing Vodafone, then switching back.

Yes I can send an sms to myself, but nobody else.
