Can’t roam with my new O2 pay as you go card in Italy, there is signal, but can’t connect

Hi!

 

It’s quite desperate, it’s been a week but I still can’t roam with my O2 SIM card in Italy, please help, thanks

If you are trying to call try switching down to 2G as 4G Calling is essential in Italy and that is not available on PAYG 

 

Some things to try:Check data roaming is on in phone settings

Manually search for another network

Change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

Check with O2 whether you have a roaming bar on your account. 

Do this via social mediaIf you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help

 

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Ensure 5G is disabled on the phone settings, as PAYG on O2 does not support 5G.

Also @Whyyahoo -

Check data roaming is on in phone settings.
Manually search for another network - try any, even if they say "Forbidden network".
Reboot the phone
If you have an iPhone change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"
If still not working then contact O2 to remove the Roaming bar on your account.
If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.

The correct iPhone apn is "payandgo.o2.co.uk"
