Call forward setting tell me I have unexpected network error and then fades out the option. How do I fix?

Check you have not got WiFi Calling enabled on your handset, @Jim2017 - it and call forwarding don't play nicely with each other. 

Only way to get the codes to work is by having WiFi Calling switched off both on the phone and on your account, only O2 CS can do the account-side bit.

Once forwarding is working as you want, the WiFi calling settings can be put back.

It will need a call to O2, 8am is the best time to call 202. Good luck.

Oh, and Call Forwarding is not offered to PAYG customers, just in case you are not Contract.
