Calculation of "Total Data Usage" seems to over state qty reported on detail lines. Why?

Hi

 

We set up my Mother with an Ipad and an O2 Sim card at the start of the Lockdown so that she could Skype mebers of the family to keep intouch. This has worked fine. We have used O2 Mobile for this rather than  Wifi as she does not have broadband.

 

As she has grown in confidence Skyping the nos / lenths of Skype calls has increased so we have been checking our Data usage to make sure we have enough data on the Tarrif we use.

 

Looking at the detailed reports attached to the Bill we can see a total usage reported of 5.44 GB for Nov to Dec Bill.

 

When I download the data to Excel and sum all the data usage reported within the billed period, ie adding up the individual daily usage the Total I get is 4.4GB! Ie 1GB less than the total on the Bill !

 

Can any one explain why this is?

No idea, sorry.

You can reset the data counter on the iPad to check what that reports as useage though,

You'll need to call customer service for specifics about your account..

Or advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:
If you call 202, when it comes to the reason you are calling stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say "Upgrade", "Lost/Stolen" or "Fraud" if you have to, to get put through to someone.
8.00am is the best time to call if you can.
