I have paid my bill early will they still take the direct debit on the day ?

As long as you have paid 7 days before the direct debit date it won't be taken

Any closer it it will be.

Depends when you paid in relation to the direct debit date.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
