Can anyone advise me on the best way to use roaming whilst travelling for 6 weeks from next week please? All I can see is the £6 a day option but am not sure if this is my only option which is expensive. TIA

I'm afraid O2 Travel is your only option.

You should download Messenger and Whatsapp to use over Wifi. Ensure people you want to stay in touch with also have the same app.

You could also use a local sim which would be much cheaper for data.

Remember, you only pay for O2 Travel on the days you use it.

This is the best option, your only other good option option is to buy a Thai PAYG simcard and use that for data in Thailand.
