Hi there
My phone keeps on texting a weird number: 9017
Is apparently a premium number, but one that is free. These texts do not show in my text history, I am not physically sending the texts, so I only get to see them when my bill arrives
I have asked O2 for help on a number of occasions, asked for the number to be blocked answer was they cannot do that. Instead they suggested blocking all premium numbers, this ahs bene done, but low and behold phone is still texting 9017
Anyone else have or had this issue and have you managed to resolve it?
Thank you

O2 can and do put a block on Premium numbers, so you need to persevere.
These are the bars available. Credit to @Marjo and @pgn for providing them
- Bar all Direct to Bill Debits
- Premium Bar (calls to premium numbers, 090, 070 etc.)
- International Bar (bars calling out from UK)
- Adult Bar (stops 18+ services access for web)
- Bar all inbound calls when roaming outside UK
- Bar all outgoing international calls (blocks calls from UK to overseas)
- Bothway bar (blocks calls in and out)
- Chat bar (blocks over 18 chat services)
- Class 9 bar (block when arrears)
- GPRS bar (blocks data)
- IMEI Bar (phone's serial number blocked and blacklisted)
- Incoming call bar (calls inbound are blocked)
- Outgoing call bar (calls outbound are blocked)Roaming bar (Can't use phone outside UK
The bars you need are the top two @SzidiC
They can only be activated by O2 customer services
We're just customers like you but it sounds as if you need someone to access your account which can't be done from here.
Give O2 a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (Contract) OR 4445 or 0344 809 222 (PAYG)
Or you can message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), hopefully they should be able to help.
But then if its VVM maybe the above info is irrelevant. 😂

As I have never had a phone with VVM, the response from you and @madasaf1sh was a new one on me.
Thanks for the information. 😉 Every day's a school day on here 😂
