I’m upgrading from iPhone 8 to iPhone 15 and have been told that I will need a new SIM card to access 5g. I’m on a sim only contract and would like to know what I need to do to get a compatible SIM card?

@Steve1610 Quickest way is to call in store if you have one nearby with your photo ID and they will swap sims for you while you're there.
Alternatively ask customer service to send you a new sim and swap it yourself: SIM Swap: a mini guide (incl eSim) - O2 Community
Call customer service on 202 from your mobile or 0344 809 0202, 0800 902 0217 or 0800 032 1402
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.
You can also reach O2 via social media:

If you are upgrading via the O2 website it will ask you if you need a 5G sim
Then you just need to do a sim swap once you have the phone and new sim
Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update
Otherwise take photo ID and visit any O2 store who will supply you a sim and transfer your number free of charge
