So I'm going to Los Angeles in September and I'm thinking about buying the iPhone 17 (pro max?) but I remembered in the US they only have eSIMs so I was wondering if i'd be able to get access to 5G Standalone on a eSIM cause I remember seeing a post that you would need a physical sim to get 5G Standalone but that would be a bit of problem due to no sim slot

Should be available now according to this post from @Dave-O2

However, you will need to get a QR code before you travel, which will disable your current sim, if you wish to activate it on your phone as soon as purchased.

If not, wait until home and activate one in store to avoid service disruption.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Just be very careful buying an iPhone in the US, you are only covered warranty wise in the US, so if anything happens to it in the UK, then you aren't covered by Apple at all, unless you go back to the US.  slight_smile

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company
