But unfortunately, you chose to dial a US number.
Zoom provides local numbers for participants all over the world, you need to choose a local number to avoid charges.

@HATstar 001 is the prefix for the USA. Were you on the zoom call to the US? Did you initiate the call or join it?

I joined the call that was set up by someone else.  I wanted to join the call by phone not video. Zoom provided an option to dial in with a list of numbers.  I just choose one of the numbers and joined the meeting.

@HATstar Unfortunately, an expensive lesson, and nothing you can really do about it.

Either way, the bottom line is that you made the call, so you need to pay for it I'm afraid.
As @Bambino says, am expensive lesson learned.
