why my contract grew

I sign a contract last year 55£ per month, i dont check my bills but now when is 61.42 why? Is like this from 6-7 months. If i sign with 55£ why they grow? I was have deal with three and ee but never happen . Someone explain me please? Is last time when i do a contract with O2 is not normal.

This looks like something you’ll be able to do or check in the My O2 app. We have a guide to help with that if you’re unsure how to use it Guide: How-to guide for My O2 And don’t worry if you get stuck because there’s an in-app messaging service you can use to chat with O2 who can help. Just go to the ‘Support’ tab and ‘Start a Conversation’ at the bottom.

If you joined O2 prior to last April, then the RPI increase, which happens every year, will add more to your contract monthly cost: https://www.o2.co.uk/prices

 

Last year's example here:

***If you're on a sim only tariff, or one of our non-O2 Refresh Pay Monthly tariffs or non-Business Essentials tariffs, RPI is applied to your monthly subscription charge (your tariff amount). For example, if you're on a £27 per month tariff, the increase of 7.8% plus 3.9% (11.7%) would have resulted in a new monthly subscription charge of £30.16.***

 

This April/May, it is likely to jump quite a lot: the government figure of 10.7% estimated this month, plus O2's baseline 3.9% -  14.6% estimated.  O2 have yet to release the figure they will be applying to all Contract tariff rates this year, @Catalin1.

 

For ref: Confirmed 2023 Price Hikes % for UK Telecoms Providers

BT 10.5% CPI + 3.9% = 14.4%

EE 10.5% CPI + 3.9% = 14.4%

Plusnet 10.5% CPI + 3.9% = 14.4%

Vodafone 10.5% CPI + 3.9% = 14.4%

O2 / Virgin Mobile = TBA (February Announced RPI + 3.9%)

TalkTalk 10.5% CPI + 3.7% = 14.2%

Shell Energy 10.5% CPI + 3% = 13.5%

Three UK 10.5% CPI + 3.9% = 14.4%

They said 6 to 7 months so post April price increase.

The figures cited above are too close a match to the 2022 O2 11.7% RPI increase to be anything else, realistically:

It is a practice that is attracting a lot of attention in recent times, @Catalin1

Sadly, for those who signed a contract that includes the RPI terminology used by O2, they are probably stuck with it until they can upgrade or change, while OFCOM gets traction on this.
