This may appear twice as its my first attempt at a discussion and don't know if the first one was posted.

Is there anyway that I can check which email addresswas used when  a text message went to it in error. It just says email message on my bill and I want to know why and how this has happened, but if I don't know the address I can't rectify this.

If it's an iPhone it will be because you entered a subject line in your message.
You can turn this off to prevent errors in settings >iMessages
