So my contract came to the end since there is nothing good from O2 to choose for upgrade decided to go through the third party shop for an upgrade. Gues what order declined for the credit check reason? But then they quite happy to give you an upgrade directly rofl so is it really credit check issue or......????

14 years customer. No more!

We often hear that upgrades don't go through a full credit check so that might be the reason.
Do you know what your credit score and history is like as that might help explain the rejection.

Exactly as @gmarkj says.

Upgrades do not get credit checks but new contracts do.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@lucis
It would be wise to check with the major credit agencies just in case there is something amiss.
Good luck and hope all works out ok for you.

@lucis

As you've mentioned a 'third party shop' I'm assuming here you mean an independent channel dealer or a company such as Carphone Warrhouse.

If you have not dealt with them before it's a certainty they'll put you through a credit check and you'll be subject to their credit management rules as you'll either be being billed directly by them and not O2 so unfortunately your history with O2 will not be taken into account.

Check your credit files and scores but remember this is no guarantee that a company will extend credit to you nor will they discuss their credit decision process.
