upgraded from contract to pay monthly - no data - new sim?

Anonymous

My 2 year iPhone 5 contract ran out today, got a call from Carphone Warehouse and while I decided what device to go for, I switched to a £20 a month rolling contract...now, everything seem to be updated in 'my O2' but my visual voicemail and most importantly data don't seem to work anymore...

The Carphone Warehouse guy told me I am going to get a welcome pack in the post tomorrow but I'm not quite sure whether I'm going to get a new SIM card with it?

Anyone had any previous experience with this?

You have probably been changed to non iphone data so contact customer service as you need the idata bolt on not the standard data.

It's strange that your data would change immediately as it usually updates overnight.
It's more likely to be something else - are you still able to make calls and texts OK?

texts and calls are fine and no disruptions are reported in my area...
I wonder whether is anything to do with the fact that my old contract was 3g only while the simplicity one is 4g?
Again maybe a new SIM is arriving or the APN settings need to change?

Change to mobile.o2.co.uk but you will have to change them back once your bolt on is changed. VVM won't work without it.

Does it say "Data for iPhone" in your My O2?
My other suspicion is that (you get only 1 days worth of data today) so you have used up your allowance. You full month of data will kick in at Midnight.
