txt charges on Pay and Go, Go, Go

I'm on pay and go, go, go with 900+ txts available however, I have sent a couple of large(ish) txts lately, around 1 KB, and have been charged 35 pence er txt.  Why would this be?

They are converting to MMS messages.

These will be charged as mms.

Try sending smaller messages or use what's app or viber as examples of alternatives.

Some of the android phones have a setting to warn you when a standard text is converted to mms. Have a look in message settings. Also keep an eye on the character count. 160 characters = one text. Phones usually convert anything over 3 messages or 480 characters to mms and adding a smilie can also change a text to mms.
