So, I took out a sim only contract last month (Oct) ported my old number to my new sim, no problem, then last week I take another sim only contract, this time for my husband, arranged to port his old number to his new sim, they have ported his old number to my phone and he has the number that came with the new sim and we have no idea where my number has gone!! so frustrated! have called afew times to try and sort it and will be getting a call back tomorrow pm, why does everything take "24 hours"??

I feel for you, total bulls up that one.
It does take time for the system to update so it may well be that they literally can not do anything for 24 hours.
I would try Live chat and ask what is going on- link is under contact us at the bottom of the page.

And now its been a week, still not resolved, have contacted O2 everyday to be told wait 24 hours each day!!!!
